40-pound bag of food cost $99.17. 145.6 cups per bag which makes it .68 per cup on Autoship. That is about $2 per day for 3 cups of high-quality food. 

When you take your puppy home at 8 weeks of age they will be eating between 1.5 and 2 cups per day. As your puppy grows you will increase their food, as they reach adulthood you will decrease the amount of food due to nutritional requirements. Example a puppy weighing 40 lbs. will need about 4 cups per day. When they reach adulthood and weigh 80 lbs. they will only need 3 cups per day. At JP Kennels we take the recommended daily amount and split it into two scheduled feedings per day.

Protein is essential for all bodily functions, including those of the brain, heart, muscles, skin, skeleton and others. This healthy dog food contains high-quality multi-source proteins.

Chicken Meal
Chicken meal is the first ingredient in this nutritious dog food recipe. Some foods contain whole chicken or chicken parts, which naturally contain a fair amount of water. We use chicken meal because most of the water has been removed, making it a concentrated source of protein. This means that there is a greater “protein content” in one pound of chicken meal versus one pound of whole chicken or chicken parts.

Eggs
Eggs are considered a complete protein source, providing essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Eggs also contain healthy fats, such as omega-6 for healthy skin and a glossy coat.

Prebiotic Fiber
Prebiotic fiber feeds the good bacteria in your dog’s stomach and studies show the key to overall health starts in the gut. With our proprietary blend, the good bacteria in your dog’s stomach will be stronger, more diverse, and more effective. Chicken Fat
Canines derive significant nutrition from animal-based fat sources in their dog food. Some of the nutrients found in animal fats are simply not available in vegetable sources. Ground Brown Rice is the entire grain with only the inedible outer husk removed. This whole grain contains seven minerals and five B vitamins.

Oat Groats
Oat Groats are whole oats that have been cleaned, toasted, hulled and cleaned again. Amazingly, they retain nearly all of their original nutrients after this process. Oat groats also contain seven minerals and five B vitamins.
